Ipswich Vigoro Final Funday..Been and Gone Update

Hello

We had our Ipswich Vigoro Final Funday Market on Saturday. We ended up with 26 stallholders on the day which was an amazing response and we have been advised that there was approx 650 people that came through the gate.

This was The Handmade Expo's first OUTDOOR market, so we were keen to get in there and give it a go...It was a great experience to look at and see how it was all going to run, and smoothly it did. The weather was not too bad either..The rain stayed away, however, it was the wind that got us!

We were happy with the setup and it looked great..A Mini-Market.

We did have some feedback from the stallholders, which was very mixed. We had some that had a fantastic day, some that had a good day and some that didnt have a great day, but even so, still enjoyed being there, around other stallholders that had the same passion for Handmade. We also had a great day with handing out hundreds of brochures to the public to put on their fridge to remember to come to all of our other markets.

It is hard being in the first year of doing The Handmade Expo. We really love trying new things and being invited to new and different events, so we would like to send out a huge thanks to the stallholders and customers who continue to come and support our new and exciting ventures. Each market that we do will determine its fate for the following years.

So, here are those photos...

So, thanks once again for your support. Our next market is being held on Saturday 4th April (next Saturday) at Goondiwindi. So, if you know of anybody that would like a stall, or even lives in the area and would like to come and have a browse and shopping day for handmade goods, please let them know.

The Ipswich Heritage Faire

Hello

We have proudly been invited to attend the Ipswich Heritage Faire on Sunday 17th May. The Faire will run from 8am-3pm at Woodlands, Marburg.

We have very limited space for this market and can only have 25 stallholders. This Faire is therefore by invitation only. We are currently going through our stallholder database and will be in contact with the invited stallholders in the near future, so keep your eyes out on email. We are sorry we can't have everyone, but space does limit us.

There will be lots of entertainment, demonstrations, food and of course The Handmade Expo.

This is an annual event which started in 2008 and they had approx 1000 people through the door...FREE ENTRY and they are hoping to make it bigger and better this year.

So, add this one to your diary and if we don't see you as a stallholder this time, we hope to see you as a customer.

Saturday...BEEN, GONE AND FABULOUS

Hello Everyone.

We have been hanging out to blog the success of our Saturday market. We had some awesome feedback from both customers and stallholders alike. So, a big thanks to the Stallholders for their feedback and for also coming every month (or so), before day break to set up to support The Handmade Expo. A big thanks also to the Customers who continue to come and support not only The Handmade Expo, but Handmade as well...and of course, supporting the wonderful stallholders and we know that you are becoming regulars as we recognise your faces every market...we also just HAD to mention the family that came all the way from LISMORE, NSW to see the market...

So, we wanted to give you some fab figures for the day.
We had a whopping 1100 people come through the door on Saturday, what an amazing response. We also raised $800 for the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal...FANTASTIC. A big thanks to the Stallholders for donating their handmade goodies to the wonderful looking handmade hampers. Congrats to the 3 winners.
The Red Cross also sizzled sausages and raised a good $1,092 to the appeal. Almost $2000 was raised on the day for the devastating disaster.

The photos that were taken are not too good, so we dont have any this month, however, please keep you eye out in all the local papers for photos and stories...We did have a couple of them arrive on the day to take some photos and we have been talking to them about the successful day. So, keep your eyes peeled for those.

Our next market is being held on Saturday 28th March at The Ipswich Vigoro Final Funday on Jacaranda St, East Ipswich. We are still taking bookings for new stallholders, so, if you are interested in having a stall, please email Liesa at: thehandmadeexpo@optusnet.com.au.

See you all on Saturday - March 14th

Hello Everyone.

Well, this will be our last post before we see you all on Saturday. We are so excited to be back in Ipswich, it seems like forever!

Our March Madness should be a hoot with Stallholders having a stall sale...this will be visible by a March Madness Sale sign on their stall. It could be 10% off all stock, it could be buy one get one free! These are just examples of what you might expect, but it is all a suprise, even to us!

We are proud to also be focusing on the Victorian Red Cross Bushfire Appeal this month. With 30c out of every entry going to the appeal. The Stallholders have also banned together and are donating handmade goodies to a hamper (or 2) which will be raffled off. Tickets are $1 and can be purchased at the door. The draw will take place after the expo and the winner will be contacted by phone. We can't forget that the Red Cross are also sizzling sausages on the day with all proceeds going to the appeal as well. AMAZING SUPPORT from everyone so, a big THANKS goes out to you all (in advance).

So, come on down and enjoy the day browsing and shopping for unqiue and amazing handmade goods...There is something for everyone at these markets.

GOURMET FRESH SECTION

Hello

So, after much discussion and research, we have decided from August that we are going to include a "Gourmet Fresh Section" at our new venue at the Ipswich Turf Club.
We are so excited to be able to tell the world about this.
We are now on the hunt for new "gourmet" food stalls. Same guidelines apply with HANDMADE. Everything is to be grown, made, baked or farmed by the stallholder.

We are looking for:
- Pattiserie
- Flowers
- Cheese
- Meat
- Wine
- Fruit & Veg
- Plants
- Seafood
+ many more gourmet things...

If you know of someone who fits these categories (or more) and would be interested in further information, please email: thehandmadeexpo@optusnet.com.au or call Liesa on 0422876154.

We hope to attract a new and different crowd to our already expanding market.
