DARCH, 6065

I have sewn just about all my life and used to make my own children’s clothes as well as my own and for my grandchildren and I am self taught.

I embellish and make clothes for children from birth to 4 years of age for girls and have just started doing so for boys as well after having many requests.

Friends and neighbours would always comment on how good my own clothes were plus my granddaughter’s were also when she was with me as a child.

How long have you been ‘creating’?
Too long to remember!
Is it a full time/ part time/hobby or business?

Full time hobby turned now into a small business

Where do you sell your creations?
On line through Facebook and have had stalls at the Pines Markets in Bentley, Kalamunda Markets, and will be attending my first “Ladies Night North of the River”  and now at The Handmade Expo in Rockingham.

What makes what you do special or different?

You won’t see anything like I make in the shops as most of them are one-offs and not mass produced.

What is the most rewarding part of what you do?

See a small piece of material turned into something that people are interested in buying.

What is your favourite product that you make?
Everything - I can’t choose just one, sorry!

My daughter.  I started sewing when she was around 3 and she just loved everything I made her.  I started getting some really nice comments from strangers in the shops and it all went from there.

How long have you been ‘creating’?
I have only been sewing for around 5 years, but I have been "creating" FOREVER! lol!
My day job has me working as a Graphic Designer Little Black Kat Creative  and have a background in Fine Arts & Illustration.

Just a hobby
Where do you sell your creations? Online/markets etc
The Handmade Expo Market, Church/school stalls, Facebook and will be opening at Etsy store in near future.

What makes what you so special or different?
Hmmmmm.  While there are a lot of people out there making dolls and dresses these days, I try to buy fabrics that are a little different and am always looking for ways to improve my patterns.  My dolls are each "cuddle tested" by my daughter too!

What is the most rewarding part of what you do?
Seeing how excited people are when they purchase a new doll . . . and when they come back for more!

What is your favourite product that you make?  My dolls
